About
Los Angeles based artist ARO cut her teeth on electro pop before finding her sound in alternative. Her first two pop singles released in summer of 2023 put her on the radar of major music publications, after which she began working with Kenny Carkeet of AWOLNATION to start sculpting out a more personalized sound. Her life stories and inner meanderings seep through her music through thoughtful lyrics. With nods to 70s rock, punk, blues, and dream pop, ARO carves out a pop rock presence for herself and continues to explore her musical prowess, always keeping up with her ever evolving inner landscape. Her upcoming third single ‘Crazy’ is a fierce pop rock anthem that cheekily pokes at outdated gendered expectations of coming into adulthood as a woman. This single marks the first track of her upcoming EP ‘Messy’, which will offer listeners a front row seat to the self-admittedly messy inner world of this artist. This first body of work is set to release in early 2024.

In Summer of 2023, ARO launched her debut single “Let Me Go” that tells the story of heartbreak from the perspective of a routine saboteur. In this piece the artist romanticizes her avoidant tendencies in relationships, likening herself to powerful, unpredectable forces of nature that seek to create chaos and destruction. The piece was inspired by the dark feminine archetypes represented in mythology across ancient cultures (and a breakup).
The single amassed over 6k streams in the first month, and attracted the interest of respected industry curators including Earmilk, Ones to Watch, and Cage Riot; a modest yet impactful start to this promising artists’ career.
ARO has no plans of slowing down. Having used 2022 as a deep-dive creative year, she’s already written her first EP and entire first album. Her next single, ‘I Fall In Love Too Many Times’ is set to release on September 22, 2023. The track explores her relationship to her own neurodivergence, speaking to the common cycle of hyper-fixation and burn out, while begrudgingly acknowledging the hidden superpowers of her brain working just a bit “abnormally”.
Both tracks will be part of her EP containing 4 additional works, which she intends to release in January of 2024.
